Doing local science on its current location on Jezero Crater, Mars Perseverance Rover, wastes no time in characterizing the terrain. Key Milestones for Mars Helicopter Ingenuity have been achieved and the demonstrator proved that powered flight is possible on Mars and doing so autonomously. So what’s next? Here are the list of flights including the scheduled next two. As you can see, all green on the outcome. Pretty impressive for a test flight.

Since more test are on the pipeline for Ingenuity, Perseverance Rover have to maximize the time in the terrain and regolith characterization on the current location. Meaning, Percy will have to stay put on it’s current flight observation position. If they key aspect of the mission is Astrobiology, there are plenty of samples Percy can play with.
