Sol 63 compilation
Sol 63, and we are enjoying the views as currently Perseverance rover is doing local science stuff at the spot for viewing Mars Helicopter Ingenuity flights. In this batch of raw images, we get to see upclose the layers of sediment formations as SUPERCAM_RMI zoom’s to those regolith and starts the process of characterizing the nature of those terrain.
Navigating the rocky terrains, is no easy task for a rover that only get to roll its whee’s after receiving instruction from earth. It’s not like GTA where you can just steer a wheel anytime. Each day Perseverance Rover have to capture each day, sends data to earth to be validated on the what’s the most efficient and direction take. Getting to that definite position is easier said that done. Operators on Earth has to give it to Perseverance by steps…direction…how much roll of the wheel…what degree to turn…and everything….For this HAZCAM plays a big roll in keeping Perseverance from obstacles that could hinder it’s movement significantly. See below HAZCAM catpure and imagine how operators on Earth creates instructions to overcome that terrain.
Pictures are worth thousand words. So, I’m just sharing all photos as captured by NASA Mars Perseverance Rover currently on the Red planet. Photo, crawled using NASA API. Really helpful delivered to my inbox. With additional steps, reflected the structured table into this post. Here’s how you can go back to the technical on how we crawl these raw images as Percy streams it to NASA lend us with the API
