Very interesting images as streamed on Sol 54 as Mars Perseverance captures a what look’s like a sedimentary layers of rocks. On its current location on Mars, it is worth remembering that Jezero Crater was believed to be an ancient lake and such formation somehow could provide additional info on how long was the layers formed and of course how that lake formed those. It could possibly be a ground to start digging for inner layer objects. Who knows some organisms from long time ago might be “sandwiched” there. It’s just my opinion and no scientific texts to support…just saying.
